Michigan class of 2017 target Ignas Brazdeikis is now a class of 2018 recruit. Brazdeikis said last week U-M had asked him to consider taking D.J. Wilson's spot in the 2017 class after the redshirt junior left for the NBA, noting he would talk to his parents and coaches before reaching a decision.
The 6-8, 200-pound standout wants to play one more season in high school at Mono (Ontario, Canada) Orangeville Prep and enjoy his senior year.
"I'm not really planning to visit any schools until after the last live period right now," he said.
That would be August, at the earliest. He was on campus last year for a football game, as well.
Brazdeikis would be a top 35 recruit if he played in the United States, Rivals.com analyst Eric Bossi shared. He's averaging 22 points per game in NIKE EYBL play and shooting over 50 percent from the floor, 31 percent from three-point range.
He's also still very high on the Wolverines, who should be considered one of his leaders.
"Without a doubt," he said.
