*** Another day, another Drew Kendall update. This is a significant one as Michigan offensive line coach Ed Warinner was back on the phone with Kendall for the second time this week. As I mentioned, the first call this week was more of a quick personal conversation. This one was actually more football oriented. Warinner didn't pitch NFL Draft production or anything like that. He actually did a lot of coaching and teaching as the call centered around pass protection.
*** Warinner and Kendall chatted for a long while before Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh jumped in. This was Harbaugh's third call with Kendall over the last three weeks. Kendall knows he's a top priority for the Wolverines, and Harbaugh has expressed that to him. Kendall told me that he really likes Harbaugh's business approach as well as his overall football acumen and resume. The Rivals100 prospect from Boston (Mass.) Noble & Greenough can see himself playing for Harbaugh at the next level.
*** There is no doubt in my mind that Michigan leads here, and I feel confident in my FutureCast pick for the Wolverines. Kendall is looking to make a decision in late May, but honestly, it wouldn't be surprising to see him pull the trigger sooner. I believe his family just has to give him the green light. He loves the program, the coaches and the academic opportunities. Plus, he is good friends with commits Casey Phinney and Louis Hansen. This is a no brainer, in my opinion.
