*** We were at Oak Park (Mich.) High for their matchup with West Bloomfield, home of four-star running back Donovan Edwards. Here's some insider notes after speaking with Edwards postgame.

*** First of all, Edwards was spectacular tonight, lining up primarily at tailback but scoring all three of his touchdowns while taking direct snaps out of the wildcat. He also lined up at punt returner and wide receiver. We’ll have full game highlights for him and 2022 Rivals250 running back/defensive back Dillon Tatum, as well as thoughts and breakdown coming up soon.

*** Now to his recruitment. We spoke with Edwards following the game, and he gave us the latest. With the dead period now being extended until January 1, 2021, that complicates things for his recruitment since multiple schools, namely Georgia and Oklahoma, are far from home. Edwards said he would not commit to a school without visiting. Remember, he has visited Georgia in the past; he has not been to Oklahoma, where he has a strong relationship with running backs coach DeMarco Murray.

*** Edwards said he is planning on taking visits to schools despite not being able to actually be in contact with the coaching staffs while there. He was actually planning on going down to Norman, Oklahoma to visit the Sooners for their game last week, but the trip fell through. He is focused on his high school season now, so he’s not going anywhere in the next few weeks, but it’s still in the cards for Edwards to take those visits.

*** The Rivals100 prospect WILL enroll early, he told The Wolverine tonight. He has made that decision recently. Edwards will not commit to a school until his team’s season is finished. West Bloomfield’s regular season ends Oct. 23, with playoffs obviously following that.

*** Now, the Michigan side of things. Edwards continues to talk regularly with Wolverines’ running backs coach Jay Harbaugh and the Maize and Blue staff. They continue to develop the strong relationship that they’ve built over the last four years. Edwards actually called the aforementioned Harbaugh earlier today to talk about his season-opener and to get excited about it. Harbaugh gave him some coaching points, which were well-received by Edwards.

*** Look for more on Edwards in the hours to come.
