It simply can’t all be luck, it can’t all be a coincidence. He went to USD, a school with absolutely no tradition to speak of, and won at a level they’ve never experienced, while developing a QB (josh Johnson) with ZERO D-1 offers, into a 14 year pro (got signed by the jets yesterday).

He took over an epic mess from Walt Harris at Stanford, a team that won 1 game, and punted more times on THIRD down than they went for it on fourth (actual stat). People say “oh a lot of people would win with Andrew luck.” Ok, how do you explain the National doormat dominating the house buying dynasty of USC? The largest upset ever (in terms of spread) wasn’t close, wasn’t a blocked field goal, it was total and complete domination from start to finish, with Tavita Pritchard at QB. Who is that? Great question.

The 49ers? 0 playoff wins in 8 years, Mike Singletary losing his mind, Alex smith nearly out of the league. What happened? Only coach in NFL history to make a conference title game in his first 3 years. Fourth highest winning percentage ever. A terrible missed call (PI on fourth and goal) from a super bowl. Smith goes from basically out of the league to 9 figure deals.

Michigan? Harbaugh takes over a 5-7 team that lost to both Maryland and rutgers in the same season. A program that had lost 5/6 to MSU, while being out scored almost 3-1. Michigan had scored one touchdown against MSU in 3 years. Year 1? 10 wins and the greatest fluke in football history from 11. Year 2? One inch from a playoff and conference title. We act like we are so lost in the wilderness? 2018 we were favorites in Columbus, 10 game winning streak. 2019 we control our own destiny against the buckeyes to win the conference.

Yea, we came up short. Yea, 2020 sucked. But if you told me tomorrow Michigan could hire a coach that would double our win total year one, that turned around the most hapless program in major college football from 1-11 to 11-2 in 3 years, that has the fourth highest winning percentage in NFL history? I’d say sign him up forever today.

and we have that. If the jackhammer is back we are in the best position we can be. Matt Campbell winning 7 games per year in Ames, Iowa, in an awful conference, isn’t Jim Harbaugh.

we have the best we can get. We just need him to get back to being him.

go blue.
