The fact that UM is 70 miles closer to the major metropolitan area in Michigan than MSU I'm sure has nothing to with the attendance numbers. Hell, what other football team do those down river folks have to root for, the Lions?

Well there were a huge number of Sparty "mobs" running the Ann Arbor streets...don't know why they don't stay at their "home" city and spend their McDonald $$$ at their local watering hole/Buffalo Wings etc. Just looking for trouble and trying to convince themselves that Michigan Stadium/Crisler is home away from home. Beilein has changed that as will Mr. Harbaugh...this still isn't a vintage Michigan team and yet we came w/in 10 seconds of upending Sparty. You've got a very talented team w/ probably the best QB you've had in your program. Congrats...

You're also getting jerked around a bit by some MSU fans, so i tried expaining it to you. They come here to goad you because they know you react to it.

No, they come here to troll because they're toolboxes with nothing better to do. Plus their own board sucks balls for the same reason their stadium is half-full when they're #2 & it's Freaking Homecoming! They don't show up! Period. They'd rather stay home & keep an eye on Michigan than enjoy & support their own team. They're incredibly obsessed with everything Michigan 100% of the time and have a huge inferiority complex. But yet they demand that we respect them. Haa!

...and if you read my posts in this thread, I've given Sparty kudos for their success under Dantonio. They've got a great program, they don't rebuild...they just reload. Now if you reread the OP...this discussion was on the fact that you folks can't fill the "toolshed" even though you have another highly ranked team. Spartan Stadium is about 2/3 the size of Michigan Staduim and they struggle filling it...though that problem is happening all around the CFB landscape.

The truth is that this is a real rivalry and both fan based follow the other program, at least to some degree. It's entertaining. Those that deny it, act like that don't care, and rip on others for following are the ones that are ashamed of doing so. It's called projection.

It's kind of funny. I remember when MSU got ripped for having connsecutive bad teams. Then, it became lines like "MSU hasn't won 2 games in a row over UofM since 1969. Then, "MSU can't beat a ranked team". "MSU hasn't won a BSC bowl game yet". "MSU hasn't played in the Rise Bowl since 1988".
The list goes on forever - comments that can't be made about MSU anymore.
Now, it's, "they can't even fill their stadium".
