Interesting finish to the period. Hyman collides with Tech goaltender going for the puck in the corner as the puck squirts out to Copp with a totally empty net. Copp loses control of the puck as the period ends. Both Hyman and the Tech goaltender draw minors.

17-5 shot differential for Tech reflects the balance of play. Lots of Wolverine turnovers in their own zone.

Geez, we were absolutely horrendous in our own zone, especially in the first period. (I'll concede some of that to the absence of 3 of our best offensive players, which lets Tech forecheck with more abandon). Racine absolutely carried us to the W.

Nieves (both ways), Hyman, Kile and Lohan also stood out.

1st period was not good at all. Second period was a little better. Played decent in their own zone once they got the lead.

Great Mel Pearson quote post game: "Playing a Wolverine is tough. Playing a wounded Wolverine is tougher."

For his part, Berenson conceded that Tech was the better team overall. He likened the game to an "old time" Michigan game, but in reverse.
Tech had all the scoring chances and dominated, but Michgian held on and found a way to win.
