I really have not followed Dan Mullen much until he arrived at my not-so-favorite UF Gators in Gainesville. Followed him with curiosity more than anything since then. Last year I expressed my positive impression at some good things that he seems to be doing down there. Like what? My impression in viewing them somewhat casually is that he seems to pull some darn good production out of “what he has been given.” Last week I expressed that I was sort of rooting for a dark horse/ underdog kid in Trask. I think Trask is decent-but-not-great talent QB that is making the most of what he has (and Mullen seems to be “managing” him effectively).
As things are a bit quiet until our Michigan men play, I have tried to take advantage of this down time and catch some other teams that are active.
**Just speaking theoretically now...let’s say for fun that Jim H retires or NFL (just for discussion, so calm down all you literalists)- would Dan Mullen be a guy towards the top of your Coach list? I would have to say yes, again, based not on how many Championship rings he has, but more important, apparent ability to effectively use the talent that he has.
Thoughts? Other Coaches that you see doing a great job?
