UCLA freshman tight end Chris Clark has left the Bruin program, reports Chris Foster of The Los Angeles Times.

Clark was not in Las Vegas with the Bruins for the team's 37–3 win over UNLV on Saturday. The New Jersey-native posted a tweet Saturday saying, "feels great to be back in the 201." 201 is an area code in New Jersey.

Clark was a unanimous top-5 player at his position by the major recruiting services and the top-ranked tight end for Rivals.com.

I'd be cautious, the kid seemed like a head case during recruitment. I don't think a flake that walks after a couple weeks would do well with Sgt. Harbaugh.

this kid went to ucla where last year they never passed a ball to a tight end, over playing for harbaugh who loves tight ends he had his a choice, so now he can live with it. mich, is way to tough for him stay in area code 201.

Mora and Clark never hit it off. Mora was heard yelling "I'll send you on a bus to New Jersey myself." But you could be right about Clark being a head case although during the final weeks of recruiting the East was buried in snow and SoCal was 70+ degrees with sun.

I agree with one of the posters above. He went to UCLA because it was warm and nice - he was saying that all last year, that he was drawn by the weather. I don't think this kid has the worth ethic to do well in college. He was highly rated in HS but the reason he wanted to come to Michigan was because of Hoke - the only coach in college where you could coast and did not have to work. He ain't coming to Michigan - I expect that he ends up heading to Penn State.

I think even one of the writers for this site said the same thing - Clark just sounds like a complete head case. As mentioned, why would you head to UCLA when they had ZERO passes to TEs last year? For the longest time his top 2 schools were UNC and Michigan and then he ended up going to UCLA at the last minute. I personally don't think Harbaugh even tries to get him...I think we are going to get some studly TE recruits in the next 2 years - I expect that next year we will get the Top RBs and TEs committing to Michigan so we will be just fine.

I agree Penn State would be the best for him. I would add that Syracuse would be number two and maybe Pitt number three.
I don't want him here. He seems like a head case and very immature.

Kid sounds like a spoiled turd. Let him go play at UConn. Prep football in Connecticut is a joke anyways just like New Jersey except for Don Bosco Prep which recruits nationally. Harbaugh probably don't want him.

FYI Michigan did offer him 10 months ago

They did offer him. Does anyone know why he quit? California is a long way from his home. The only thing I did not like about him was the way he EXPECTED the schools recruiting him to pander to him like he was something special. I was actually glad when he committed elsewhere and Michigan can get a good TE anywhere. This is why these recruiting stars suck for young kids like this. They NEVER address a kids maturity, personal situations, or character which says as much about them as does their supposed athletic ability at their age. It's all about the MONEY and hype. I wonder what kid would have taken this kids scholarship money for a shot to attend school at UCLA and actually finish his degree? Instead, this kid bailed and went home. Like I said earlier, if he HAD to go back home for personal reasons then that would be a different matter.

Well he was the #1 ranked TE last year so yes it was only natural we offer him. He also apparently regretted not going to Michigan almost immediately after signing day so who knows what the reason was. Him and Mora did not get along at all - I think that is well documented. Either way, I trust JH when it comes to character so we'll learn more about this situation sooner versus later.

Sam Webb commented this AM that Clark apparently flamed Harbaugh in front of recruits on his visit. I recall hearing he was very cool toward Harbaugh.

the zero passes to the TE is a bit misleading. They didn't have anyone on the roster who was technically a TE last year, therefore TE's had no catches. Their bigger receivers were just called receivers. Devin Lucien, their biggest receiver, was 2nd on the team in catches. Mora also did some good things with Joseph Fauria, so it's not like he's against using a TE.

I heard that TEs used to bully Mora when he was a kid (this was back when bullying was still cool) and that's why he doesn't throw to TEs. Shame to punish his players for others' wrongs.
