Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** Rivals250 Evanston (Ill.) Township linebacker Sebastian Cheeks told me that he has locked in official visits to North Carolina and Texas. Both schools are dark horses in the race for Cheeks. North Carolina recently offered an is making him a priority, while Texas is a school he has always admired. I would expect Cheeks to set up official visits to Michigan and Notre Dame soon. I still have reason to believe that these are the top two schools in his recruitment. However, a lot will be decided after his visits. Cheeks wants to make sure he checks out his top programs before pulling the trigger.

*** Michigan made the Top 12 for four-star Towson (Md.) Loyola Bakersfield outside linebacker Anto Saka. While it's a huge list, Michigan is definitely in the top half of that group. In fact, Michigan is set to receive an official visit from Saka on June 25. The Wolverines recently offered Saka, but he is quickly building a strong relationship with new analyst Ryan Osborn. As I mentioned last night, Osborn is doing a ton of recruiting and has given Shaun Nua a big boost on the trail. Osborn personally offered Saka three weeks ago and has been pushing hard ever since. This is a winnable recruitment as the other strong contenders are Duke, Northwestern and Penn State.

*** Sticking with linebackers, Michigan is still in the running for three-star Tenaha (Texas) High outside linebacker Jeremy Patton. I exchanged some messages with Patton today, and he told me that he has locked in official visits to Baylor and Oklahoma State. Patton is considering making a trip to Ann Arbor and has been in recent contact with linebackers coach George Helow and defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald. Obviously, the regional schools will be tough to beat here as Texas is pushing as well, but Patton is at least intrigued by the idea of playing away from home and getting a great education (he's a high academic kid).

*** Lastly, Michigan was in a really good spot with three-star Katy (Texas) High wide receiver Nicholas Anderson and was set to get him on campus soon. However, contact has completely fallen off since Ron Bellamy moved over to safeties. Bellamy played with Anderson's trainer, Margin Hooks, in the NFL, so there was a connection there. Anderson is also the younger brother of Cincinnati Bengals running back Rodney Anderson, so he's very open to playing in the Midwest. Anderson has already locked in his five official visits, and Michigan is not one of them.
