I don’t post as often as I previously did but since this is probably Michigan’s biggest upset since 1969, I thought I would give it a try.
I was struck by how often OSU players became demonstrative towards the fans at the end of a play. They would arise from ground and make exaggerated arm gestures and yell towards the crowd. It was a very obvious, “look at me move” intended to make the crowd louder. It happened on nearly every play in the first half and most in the second. It occurred so often, it lost its effect. The crowd began to tune it out. It seemed scripted and less than genuine emotion to me. The exuberance was odd and striking.
The Buckeye offensive and defensive lines seemed gassed at the end of the game. Close up of their faces showed significant fatigue. The pounding of Michigan took its toll and showed in the fourth quarter. It begins with winter lifting and conditioning—it pays dividends in the Fall.
An unranked Michigan team beats #2 OSU. In Columbus. Imagine that!!! Great day.
