This weekend Flo Wrestling put on its annual preseason all-star match called Who's #1?

U-M pledge Joey Silva picked up a huge 3-1 win in sudden victory at 132 pounds over Roman Bravo-Young. Silva entered the bout ranked second nationally at his weight class to Bravo-Young, who is not only listed by Flo No. 1 at his weight but also No. 2 in the pound-for-pound rankings of all prep grapplers and No. 13 on the website's class of 2018 big board (the latter hasn't been updated lately, which explains the discrepancy … but for a comparison Silva was No. 14). Silva was No. 7 in the prep pound-for-pound rankings.

Should be a big year for U-M wrestling, and they currently boast commits from two of the top 15 on the Flo big board (No. 8 Will Lewan, a 157-pounder from Montini Catholic in Illinois, is the other). The Wolverines and Penn State are the only two schools with two of the top 20 committed … but PSU has five of the top 20 and two of the top four. Regardless, Silva and Lewan are both huge gets for the team.
