MLive says, per Hackett, he is and apparently so is Harbaugh. Does this mean that Brandon's "letter in the night" story is in question or is Michigan just saying they like playing ND and want the series to return? IF Brandon's account is accurate, that he was handed a letter moments before kickoff dropping the series, then I have not further interest in playing ND again by choice. They've walked away from the series and the B10, I'd like to fry other fish and frankly really like the national teams we're playing. Loved the series while it lasted, but it's otherwise in my rear view mirror.

We all know that Brandon is a dick, so why trust anything he says? If you guys can keep Harbaugh, then I say restart the series. We just need a clause saying if you guys go in the toilet again, the series is canceled. We can't have you pulling a Texas on us.

Maybe a clause stating if your coach kills again, the series is off?

Screw Notre Dumb. Let them enjoy a rivalry with Duke, or whomever. I'd like to see Southern schools on the schedule. Year in and year out they're a much better challenge than N. Dumb. Besides, who wants to see twin 38-0 slaughters?

Like I said, I could give a damn if we ever play them again in my lifetime. Our league's taking off, as long as Meyers or Dantonio don't blow a head or heart gasket, we should have a great division for years to come. Besides, even when we're irrelevant we beat them half the time and when we were good we were curb stomping them (two shutouts, four TD ass kicking at their house, etc.) And they want the toilet clause, rich indeed.

The usual hyperbole, ad hominem, and reductionism we come to expect from illiterates. Try reading up a little on Brandon and stop telling us what we think of one of our own who's given millions to our school and while flawed, is a former player and our guy, okay buddy? You've got enough on your hands with with Holtz in your skeleton closet, he the greatest coach ND managed to dredge up in a generation.

I'm good with not playing them. Aside from the occasional home/home series, we don't need to re open the series with any regularity. Treat them like any other tier one ooc game.

It certainly is odd that as soon as Dave Brandon is gone, talk of restarting the series starts up, from Notre Dame's side.

As soon as I heard Kelly talking about playing again, I immediately suspected that Brandon is the one who screwed up the series. He may have deflected blame onto Notre Dame unfairly. Otherwise why in the hell would ND want to start it up again all of a sudden? Doesn't make sense unless Brandon is the culprit.

I think he and the ND AD did not play well together. Also it was their coach not their AD talking about playing again, I don't think Kelly was wanting the series to go away since he's a homeboy to Michigan.

To be honest, I think ND wanted to see how the ACC arrangement went re: scheduling and such. As much as Brandon messed up the Student ticket debacle, pissing off the Season ticket holders and the dynamic pricing gorging, he did some very good things at U-M. I am glad that he's gone though...

We should be playing ND at least every few years and it diminishes us not doing so.

Playing Rutgers and Maryland every years is way better than playing ND.

Diminishes us? We're Michigan! We don't need ND, they want nothing to do with the B1G and that's fine, move on. When they were on our schedule I loved to play them, especially after Leach beat Montana, ND in '78. Could care less now and hope they lose every game...

I think it's better to say UM and ND need each other. They are rivalries and that's how they work. Michigan will not die without ND (and vice-versa), but we should still play them at least every other year (2 years on then 2 years off).

Strange comment from a fan of a program that is a few years off a 20 year run of mediocrity, with a few years of pure garbage football sprinkled in. Was it a 15 year run of losing and/or not even being eligible for bowl games?

I agree . ND is a storied program , the rivalry is fun, and it's a good way to keep a non conference game in the national spotlight against a non cupcake opponent, that's good for our votes in the polls
