Plausible theory: 3 North Dakota Fighting Sioux (let's use their real nickname!) hockey fans responded UM, meaning Minnesota but it got mis-translated as Michigan.

And those 3 are the entirety of the population of North Dakota.

I was surprised, but not terribly, that Notre Dame didn't come up as hated in at least Indiana. And then there's Maine's disdain for Ohio State...
