Retaining current recruits - not only Wilson and Bajema, but potentially still landing Franz and keeping Jackson in 2020 - is not an irrelevant consideration.
Now, you don’t hire an assistant coach who otherwise is not a strong coach for that reason. But if you feel the guy can really coach . . .
Right now, I’d either hire Yaklich straight up, and retain (with nice raises) the rest of the staff, or hire Juwan and try very hard (again, with nice raises) to keep the rest of the staff together.
I think Yak is going to be a star, and with the way this team plays defense under him, you have to think that sets a pretty high floor no matter what. He also seems like he’s a strong recruiter.
