What was the AD's response to the reprimand and fine?

Manuel is pretty low key when it comes to controversial stuff like this. I believe his response was something like, "The conference has ruled on this and now we move on."

Fisher had a similar rant in a presser and he found himself alone on an island afterwards.

Refs are sacrosanct and that's just bullshit - they are never held accountable for their actions. The old "they're just human and can't be everywhere" line has run its course.

Actually...you are wrong about Jimbo being on an island....

The FSU President, Thrasher, came out in support...

"I do absolutely. I understand where he's coming from," Thrasher said by phone during a break in Florida Board of Governors meetings in Boca Raton. "He was coming to the defense of the team because he didn't like the call. Then the conference did what they had to do, and we've moved on. It is what it is, and we've got it behind us."

"I've got great confidence in Jimbo," Thrasher said. "I always have and always will. He's our coach and he does a great job. I'm proud of him."

Good points, but I think the AD has a responsibility ... even if pursued behind closed doors, to get to the bottom of how the Conference allowed such an obviously biased referee crew to be assembled for such an important game. There's an obvious flaw in the system that needs to be addressed before simply moving on .... or it will happen again.

While it easy for a coach to blame a game loss on a bad placement of the ball on a critical play.....truth is that two missed field goals weighed in heavily.

That play was very close....it could have been called either way. The team had plenty of opportunity to win...

The difference in penalties called...2-for 6 yards for OSU vs 7-for 59 is another story.

I don't think Harbaugh was saying refs are the reason for our loss - neither am I. He was openly critical about their non calls and the two penalties for six yards. The placement call is one I'm cool with, because that stuff happens in every game no matter who is playing.

The purpose and issue of this thread is not where to place blame for the loss, but rather if our AD is going to take on a leadership role and address the existing flaw in the system that would allow the debacle of how such an obviously biased and incompetent referee crew could possibly assigned to a game of such importance.

This isn't something we need to just move on from, but it needs to be addressed, or it will happen again ... and again. There needs to be repercussions to whoever is in charge of assigning referees to conference games.

I haven't seen it, hope he has a pair.
Some one said it already: "Manuel is pretty low key when it comes to controversial stuff like this. I believe his response was something like, "The conference has ruled on this and now we move on." GBGB"74

He did stand up to Delaney when he introduced Friday games - not only will we not host any, we won't play any on the road, either. So I think he has the fortitude to defend our interests. I would guess he prefers to operate behind the scenes rather than in public, though.

but the refs were not involved in the field goals!

I would like to see professional refs at the college level. There is more than enough money to make that happen. Don't have Ohio and Michigan residents reffing tOSU/Michigan. Hire full time refs and put the money into training them well. Grade the refs after each game, and if they need to be demoted or fired, do so. Pretty simple.

It's not about just one game. Is there any fanbase that hasn't complained about officials over the course of a season? They are bad for everybody.

And basically were just supposed to except how they are.
Coaches impact the game.
Players impact the game.
And...
Refs impact the game.

Coaches are held accountable .
Players are held accountable .
Why shouldn't refs be held accountable?
Why shouldn't the asshats that give out reprimands be held accountable for allowing a biased crew ref the most important game of the year?
