I am going to be absolutely furious if Harbaugh gets a new extension. He does not deserve one. He’s telling recruits “I’m all in” and “we are making changes”. Harbaugh has brought in new assistant coaches several times already, what’s changed? He had a veteran team last season and still couldn’t win a big road game or beat Ohio State.
First it was “wait till Harbaugh gets a his recruits”, then it was “wait till we get some better assistant/position coaches” then it was “wait till the bad eggs on the team are gone” and the one that I hear more than ever “we are young, wait till next year”.
If you are 6 years in and still have the same problems as year 1 then the blame is on the head coach. All these excuses are made because we truly wanted a former great player who is a Michigan man to work out and a lot of people still do.
What happens if we go into Wisconsin and Penn State next year and get smacked again? What would be the 2021 excuse before Ohio State pummels us again. Staff turnover has already happened and the results are getting worse. Warde is too close a friend to Harbaugh and that’s the biggest problem. Make a change now (which I would prefer) or tell Harbaugh you have one year to beat Ohio State and win a Big Ten title. Giving a extension could doom this program for a long time.
