Some here may know the name Landers Nolley. Nolley is a wing out of Fairburn, Georgia (#55 on rivals) who briefly showed some interest (or at least purported to) in Michigan late summer. The kid decided to announce his decision in stages via a mock NCAA bracket on Twitter where he placed, and seeded, 32 supposed competitors for his services and then eliminated teams and advanced others. We "went out" in the round of 16 to Illinois about a month ago.
Recently, though he had only updated his bracket to show a final four, the recruitment seemingly had come down to Illinois and Virginia Tech. Suddenly, he announced an official visit to Georgia, a school which had "lost" in the round of 8 to Illinois. He also announced that he would give his "final" decision immediately after the Georgia trip (Saturday), that he would cut his list to the final 2 (on Twitter) on the morning he left for Georgia (Friday), and that he was making the announcement video before he left for Georgia (Thursday). This seemed to indicate that he was either (a) going to Georgia (why take a trip if you have already decided to go somewhere else) or (b) playing Georgia to get a free night of partying on his official before he announced elsewhere.
Well, the kid announced for Georgia on Saturday at the end of his official visit. He then de-committed the next day and re-opened his recruitment.
It's not just corruption which complicates recruiting.
