I think the reason it looked so sluggish is that in the first quarter and a half a couple things really made it seem like we were worse than we were.

1) One actual Shea turnover (lazy throw), and two other coulda/shoulda beens (the drop which somehow made it into Perry's hands) and the fumble near the goalline. After a really long, clock-sucking drive, the INT really killed the early momentum of the game and the other near turnovers just made it feel pretty sloppy out there.
2) SMU was completely selling out to stop the run. They were running 8/9 guys toward the line. Evans was one missed tackle from going for a 60/70 yard TD multiple times, because there was no second level of support remaining, entire LB crew and both safeties with their ears totally pinned back to hold the LoS. The OL actually did fine from what I saw. Cant block 8/9 with 6 consistently but we did OK I thought.

The defense was what it was. Off day for those guys, but not sure anyone needs to jump off a ledge over it. With teams all over the conference dropping games I'll take the 25 point victory and then never think about this game again.
