at a fundamental level, one of the reasons I/we follow recruiting is that when a high-profile recruit picks us it helps validates my/our admittedly biased POV that UM is, as James Earl Jones so powerfully puts it, "the best university in the world."
In that sense, when one of the highest profile incoming freshman in years, someone who can enroll literally anywhere in the world, picks Ann Arbor... well that is pretty much the ultimate validation of that "BUITW" POV.
