always tough to quantify the impact of a dropped pass, particularly in the first half of a game. However, in any close games these drops could clearly swing a given game. Think it was Cal V whom referenced Steve Smith's performance in bowl games, arguing he performed fairly well. Went back and watched part of the Auburn 9-7 Sugar Bowl loss. I watched 12-15 plays total, including 3-4 Bo Jackson runs. But in my small sample size I saw 3 dropped passes that were so bad they looked like high school junior varsity. Recall two were Vince Bean and Triando Markray. Throw in a critical illegal procedure call against UM on one of their few deep drives (inside Auburn 30) and you have a loss that should not have happened. So while I, along with many others, love to see UM WR's with blazing speed, I'd much prefer to have a set of Jason Avant-types every year.
