Thoughts on the game . . .

- We are a bad football team right now. We just make mistake after mistake in all three phases of the game. Our offense has got some playmakers and Cade showed that the Gattis offense may not be so bad after all. Man, is our D bad though.
- Still, I'm always happy when we win. I don't care who we play. It was nice to see us comeback. I thought it was over when we were down 17-0 and I thought we would be blown out.
- I thought Schiano seemed to be toying with us early in the game. Trick play after trick play. The on sides kick (which was telegraphed and still caught us terribly off guard). I think early on he thought it would be a route.
- I hear people throwing out comparisons for Cade. Here's one I've got: Drew Brees when he was at Purdue. Similar size. Similar arm strength. Brees was stronger but Cade can work on that. But he makes super quick decisions and has a quick release like Brees. And Cade really hung in there and took some big hits.
- I posted this last week, but it just seemed when Cade came in, his body language showed confidence and that he was in charge. I have never seen that from Milton. He doesn't seem confident or in charge out there - he doesn't seem like the general - just one of 11 guys on offense. Cade seems likes he's in charge. There was a point when Cade was staring into the sidelines waiting for the call and he got impatient. He was gesturing his hands like "give me the fricken play already dammit". I liked seeing that.
- But you always must consider personalities. Especially with a QB. And perhaps also, when dealing with Harbaugh. Pure speculation: but I wonder if Cade has a strong/edgy personality and it rubs Harbaugh the wrong way.
- I like the combination of Haskins and Charbonnet. I saw them fighting for extra yards last night. Both tend to fall forward for a few extra yards. Haskins has incredible balance. I like Evans' pass catching - they were using him to create mismatches in the passing game. Evans has to be careful about ball security. It looks like Corum probably needs to get a little stronger. I hope we don't lose Charbonnet as has been rumored because I think he is a very good back.
- Sainristel will be playing on Sundays. Danny Amendola.
- Nice to see All pop up after taking that huge hit. He does look he will develop into a star. You saw his burst last night which is rare for a guy that size.
- Offensive line is really bad. Our backs were earning a lot of yards on their own. Not much time for our QB's to throw the ball before guys get in their face. It will be interesting to see what Cade can do if Hayes and Mayfield are back in the lineup.
- Nice to see Cornelius Johnson come back and have a nice game after fumbling his first catch. I like him as well.
- Why can't we run a hurry up offense? This has been a problem entire Harbaugh regime.
- Clock management was terrible at end of 1st half. Harbaugh wasted 4-5 seconds one time before calling time out.

- Not much positive to say about the D except for a play here or there.
- On the long pass play where the Rutgers made a catch between Dax and another defender, Dax looked like has simply waiting for the ball to come to him so he could fair catch it (instead of going to get the ball or break up the play). He made the play at the end but otherwise had a poor game.
- It was tough watching the Rutgers QB punishing our defenders while RUNNING the ball . . . including pushing his way into the end zone.
