Crazy commitment story from an "old friend": š
For those who don't want to read it here are some Cliff's Notes about his commitment that I didn't remember:
But none of those factoids are the "Voodoo", to which I was referring. This one comment that Rod made regarding OSU and their lack of interest in him as a recruit was:
"It put a chip on my shoulder for sure," Moore said. "A lot of people at my school were Ohio State fans ā and every time I would say Iām going to Michigan, theyād say, āyouāre going to Michigan?ā And Iād say āyeah, but when I get to Michigan, I promise you that if Iām there three or four years, we will not lose to Ohio State.ā And I was so serious when I said that, I wasnāt just saying it, I was saying it with the straightest face ever. It just came to the point that when I got here there was already a chip on my shoulder."
This young man could leave Michigan with an unprecedented 5-0 record over OSU. And though I feel that many met his comment with a chuckle at the time, the amazing thing is that he, with great help from the team and coaching staffs, has backed it up...Even being on the sideline this season Rod still kept the hex on OSU...
I look forward to his return to the Maize and Blue and getting back to his All-American form.

For those who don't want to read it here are some Cliff's Notes about his commitment that I didn't remember:
- He committed without ever visiting Ann Arbor...crazy.
- He didn't play for the coaches to whom he committed...Yikes: āI have a great relationship with Coach (Bob) Shoop, and itās building even more,ā Moore said. āThe way we talk about things, it just hits more than any other school. Coach Shoop just tells me that I can come in and play early", and āI talked to Coach (Don) Brown, and I feel like I can fit into their defensive scheme really well, even early on,ā Moore said. āThey like me as a free safety or a Viper".
- At 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Moore is not ranked at this time.
- Moore committed to Michigan over offers from Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and a handful of other major programs.
