Is the middle linebacker generally a position where you can get away with having a less athletic, rangy player as long as you have two athletic outside linebackers flanking him? It seems like middle linebackers seem to be much less athletic, by-and-large than outside linebackers at the college level. As long as you have a guy who makes good reads, athleticism is not overly important for that position.
