The Michigan Tradition: The General
A fierce young coach, Bo led his men
storming down the sideline ten
On a bright and cold November day
his men put on the gloves of gray
Against a vaunted scarlet wave
his out-manned troops were strong and brave
and in the end they held the line
The wall of blue was not denied
Bo led them in the 10 Year War
as the country watched from shore to shore
Each fall November Saturday
the Blue would fight the red and gray
He was a general on the field
but in his lessons Bo revealed
the path for each of us to lead
a larger life where we succeed
At last on one November eve
The General finally took his leave,
off to see the great Valhalla
His legacy lives, traditions followed
