BC hiring Grant from Charleston probably means that Mark Schmidt remains at St. Bonaventures.
In many ways, I thought the Bonny job checked all the boxes for Beilein if it became available. Close to his roots as he is from western New York, it would in many ways show his career has come full circle from where it started decades ago at Lemoyne and Canisius.
But this job probably holds appeal because it’s not a total rebuild, he could target the type of sleepers he thrives with and he could likely set his son up to succeed him if he took the Bonnies to another level.
I really all think that all things equal JB wants to coach in his region at a place where he can win and not compete with Michigan and also not take a total rebuilding job.
Another place to watch would be Marquette
