The basement is scurrying around with the chaos of a disturbed ant hill. Poster on poster crime, poster on staff, Dantni hating, ..., and this are just the non-deleted posts.
Upside moments:
1. Rocky went from < 50% lifetime passer to >70 percent passer. (hey, the 2 awful picks are fixable...) (editors note: nothing downfield, all YAC. He is still inaccurate)
2. Jay Johnson (OC) is now their quarterback whisperer and he called a great game. But the OL held him back
3. Fix the turnovers and we can hang with anybody not named OSU
4. WR's looked fast.
5. Rutgers clearly improved from the transfer portal so you can't compare them to last year's team.. (editors note: Just no. all kids who transferred were depth guys which is why they transferred)
Downside moments:
1. OL was a grease fire. It has to be because their new coach hasn't had time to "coach them up". Once done, those guys will live up to their potential... (editors note. They are living up to their potential)
- fun fact: Last year Rutgers had 4 TFL. This year 12. Devontae Dobbs is considered a bust.
2. DE's. Awful. No hope in sight. (editors note: They are correct here)
3. Team speed - need to learn system (editors note: When Noah Harvey is playing 245 OLB for you instead of short yardage fullback, you may have issues with speed)
4. Awful coaching - no spinning that. CMFT just needs time.
5. Running back. Connor Hayward started. LMAO. I mean, LMFAO. Newsflash. He was not a D1 RB last year. Got fat, entered the portal, had no interest, returned to team, dieted and then started???
- Fun fact. Collins ate his way out of his pre season all B1G status. Can he Keto in a week??? Asking for a friend.
6. Team chemistry. They played with the same enthusiasm of Justin Boren in Rich Rod's lineup.
My thoughts about last Saturday, looking back.
1. Sparty has the team chemistry of a group of guys who lost the staff they have had their entire careers. Replaced their mentors with guys they have relationships built by Zoom meetings and group texts. With different systems, ideas...
2. Their lack of chemistry also is a new system, installed via zoom, with players who do not fit the system, who were grossly out of fitness due to Covid AND lack of leadership and a new S&C crew
3. Talent. Cream always rises. We didn't see any green cream Saturday. Against Rutgers.
4. Attitude. Do these kids give a damn about football?
Forward thought: The line is what, -23? I think the only way Sparty covers is if the team has a COVID party and opts out.
5 Days till Spartageddon.
