If it is 50/50 in camp, I say announce Speight the game-one starter and Peters the game two starter before the first game. Stick with it regardless of the game-one outcome. Starting QB wouldn't actually be determined until after the second game.
The upside potential with Peters at QB is too great to pass on him getting an opportunity. If Speight is the starter all year and doesn't go pro, I can not see him getting benched in 2018 for an unproven qb.
