This week was going to be special for our family, but it's getting even better. At 3:5 am this morning we welcomed our first great grandson. Since this is also our 58th wedding anniversary, we couldn't have asked for a better present. We were married before our senior year at UM and moved into our apt at 1810 W Stadium.
Come Thursday, the 31st, I'll celebrate my 80th birthday. Our children, grand kids, brothers and brothers in law are all coming to celebrate a long Labor Day weekend which is a rare opportunity to have everyone together.
And finally Saturday, a very special day for me. This will be my 70th season of following UM football.
I got hooked when I saw Chuck Ortman play at Milwaukee East HS and heard he was going to UM. So many memories over the years with great players and yes, a few disappointments, but I'm hoping for one more national championship before it's over. And as always Go Blue.
