Sometimes its just about effort, meaning its all about emotional commitment, will to win, energy.
We have better athletes
We believe that we had better athletes than MSU...and again vs Indiana this week
Not at every position but over all
We have more players who will be drafted
We have more future NFL players
We have more future All Big Ten 1st, 2nd 3rd team players
We have the players and the overall talent level to win these games
Commitment
Sometimes it just about:
- Playing harder than the other guy,
- Running faster than the other guy
- Hustling more they the other guy,
- Staying with the block till the whistle,
- Getting the downfield block,
- Making a textbook full body tackle rather than an "arm-tackle"
Belief & Conviction
It is on the coaches to get this team to do three things:
1. Believe in themselves and the game plan
2. Be emotionally committed to giving full effort (see Ben Mason, Winovich, Kwity Paye, Hutchinson, )
3. Be emotionally strong enough to deal with adversity during the battle with no loss of energy.
Its on the Coaches
This is what great coaches do to help get their teams to play up to their talent level
This is what we did NOT see in of the field Saturday or "Inside the Trenches" this week
If we see this team attack each play with "an enthusiasm unknown to mankind" on Saturday, we win. If not we lose.
