Rudock is going to have to really step up his game next week

The whole Team does obviously. But QB play is where we need to really see improvement for us to succeed the next couple of weeks.
I'm assuming the dummy we hired as the hc prob knows the game plan he used today will not work against NW. I'm thinking he thinks up a few new wrinkles.

JH knows the odds. why pressure a "young" QB into mistakes. There has been so little risk against some of these creampuffs it makes sense to work on his confidence. You may recall his 4th quarter vs. Utah or BYU in the 2nd. I think JH lets the defense win while Jake gets experience. I find it interesting that UM doesn't work the middle with its passing. I also think UM opens it up in the next 2 games.

Passes up the middle are more likely to get intercepted.

Jake Rudock is 2-0 head to head vs. Northwestern, though the 2013 game was more due to Iowa's defense, than anything. The 2014 game was Iowa's best offensive game in the B1G.

Iowa jumped out to a 24-0 first quarter lead. Iowa won 48-7 over Northwestern last season.

QB Jake Rudock connected with WR Matt VandeBerg on a 42-yard flea flicker to move into ninth place in career passing yards (3,947). He connected on a 31 yard TD pass to Tevaun Smith for 6. Rudock finished the game 12-of-19 for 239 yards and one touchdown.

Green Bay Packer Micah Hyde back to Iowa to enjoy the Hawkeyes win over Northwestern ...

While this may be Northwestern's best team in ten years, under Pat Fitzgerald. It has been 20 years, since Pat Fitzgerald cruised to a 8-0 record, a Big Ten title and their last birth in the Rose Bowl.

It was a 19-13 win by Northwestern in Ann Arbor in 1995, in Week 2 of the Big Ten Conference.

Michigan was 5-0 heading into that game, while Northwestern was ironically the 4-1 team, back in 1995, after a non-conference loss to Miami-OH at home.

Best wishes on Saturday!
