I marvel at the almost instant change of direction in Michigan fans' opinions (including my own) on Davis Warren being a QB that we can look at and, due to his performance against #1 Oregon, expect 2 TDs and no INTs vs a ranked opponent.
This week will be the next step in the evolution of Mr. Warren as a Michigan QB. Can he play well on the road? Keep the no turnover streak going?
That said, Oregon's defensive backfield is full of seniors and grad transfers led by a top tier CB, and Warren had to play against all of them (they weren't on the sidelines). He held up great against that secondary.
But if we see the Warren of last week or better @ IU, I will be thrilled regardless of outcome.
It's amazing that some of the same people bemoaning the coaching staff "not putting the ball in the hands of DW", were at that game's kickoff of the belief that Davis Warren "was not a Division 1 QB". Then, with unintended irony the same people complain about "lack of improvement anywhere on the team".
Without a doubt, I am really impressed that the coaching staff and Davis himself worked hard to fix Davis Warren's INT issues in the matter of a few weeks.
I know that there were a few posters who agreed with me when I posted that Warren was salvageable as a QB, pointing out his accuracy otherwise.
Now that the INT issue is hopefully over, he's not so bad for those who thought he shouldn't get another chance.
