RJS and KK are going no where and Darboh is not either. No one on that list is in danger of leaving. Morris and Green are likely gone. So are non-contributing WRs and OL.Who all is going to be a 5th year Senior this year? I know Kalis, Wormley, Darboh, Jenkins-Stone, Chesson, and who else? I would imagine other then Kalis and Jenkins-Stone the other 3 are a lock to return. It would not shock me if Darboh were to transfer somewhere where he could up his NFL stock perhaps but I doubt it. Ironically Hoke recruited/acquired 4 5-star players and all have been absolute flops at Michigan during their career - Morris, Green, Isaac, & Kalis. That has to be a record of some sort.
So you're saying pretty much the entire OL?RJS and KK are going no where and Darboh is not either. No one on that list is in danger of leaving. Morris and Green are likely gone. So are non-contributing WRs and OL.

If we could start all true freshmen, except maybe, maybe Braden, I'd do it next year. We may see Onwenu and the WI, milk and cheese eating OL start as it is.So you're saying pretty much the entire OL?
RJS is already a 5th year. The only contributing players out of eligibility are the following.RJS and KK are going no where and Darboh is not either. No one on that list is in danger of leaving. Morris and Green are likely gone. So are non-contributing WRs and OL.
Isaac you might be right, transferring twice to lose two years makes no sense. Green is gone, I'm predicting.Green and Ty are not leaving - they are both going to stay another year and then go as grad transfers where they can play right away and at least have a degree.
If Harbaugh pushes too many potential returning 5th years out the door, his arrogance will get the best of him. Big mistake IMO.If we could start all true freshmen, except maybe, maybe Braden, I'd do it next year. We may see Onwenu and the WI, milk and cheese eating OL start as it is.
Countess started for Auburn and had a solid year. I don't think he would have been nearly as significant contributor here.RJS is already a 5th year. The only contributing players out of eligibility are the following.
Morgan
Ross
Rudock
Jenkins Stone
O'neill
Wilson
Lyons
Bolden
Kerridge
Houma
Ojemudia
Glasgow
AJ Williams
I can't think of one other contributor with a year of eligibility who I would ask to leave. Why? Keep them for experience and competition if nothing else, unless of course they want to leave.
Green and Isaac are different stories, or other transfers for other reasons. I didn't even get Blake Countess leaving. What would it have hurt to keep him?
Why would Green leave? You have to believe he is 1 year away from getting a degree and he has done nothing to show that he is NFL caliber. Why not get your degree and then go play some place immediately. I fully think JH will grant him that.Isaac you might be right, transferring twice to lose two years makes no sense. Green is gone, I'm predicting.
Nope, I couldn't disagree more, UM has suffered mightily from the entitlement mentality and it's time to shove out the door players that won't be a major help to us.If Harbaugh pushes too many potential returning 5th years out the door, his arrogance will get the best of him. Big mistake IMO.

You ask them to leave so you can get better recruits in with the scholarship situation you have. If someone is contributing but not at the level you expect and you have a chance to get some high caliber players, you make the change.
I am not talking about entitlement. I am mostly talking about players who obviously will contribute, like Darboh and Chesson for starters because someone posted the WRs might be cleaned out. That is not an easy position to replace unless you are an Amari Cooper type, ready to go.Nope, I couldn't disagree more, UM has suffered mightily from the entitlement mentality and it's time to shove out the door players that won't be a major help to us.
In small doses, yes. You don't replace close to 120 catches between Darboh and Chesson with guys who could barely run routes this year. I could see 2-3 guys who are easily replaceable. Like Iowa did with Rudock. You can't just clean house and expect to win with guys having virtually zero experience. Not to mention team chemistry, loyalty, etc. Again, certain players you are doing a favor like Iowa did to Rudock. Ferentz was honest but also had a legitimate backup plan in Beathard. We don't have any current or incoming receivers better than Darboh and Chesson. Bad as they have been, we do not have 4 Offensive lineman not playing right now better than Kalis, Magnuson, and Braden. While I would have kept Countess for depth if he wanted to stay, we were relatively deep there. You can't sacrifice a whole season to have 31 recruits instead of 24...or however the numbers will shake out. This isn't basketball where Freshman can have a huge impact.

Someone did suggest that the WRs might be purged. Regardless, I don't think you want to get a reputation for pushing a dozen players out to be grad transfers elsewhere each year. In small doses, carefully, absolutely. As I mentioned, like Iowa did. I think you risk starting to look like a mercenary program that isn't patient enough to build strong 4th and 5th year senior classes, which often result in some of the best teams each year.Nobody is advocating that you let Darboh or Chesson go - they are both coming back unless they want to leave on their own. They were both fantastic. Kalis has been inconsistent all year and the lights have not gone off with him nor do I think it ever will. I personally think Kalis is the wildcard that may not be back and quite frankly he may not want to come back either.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek, but the OL as a unit made minimal progress this season and is still not even average. Maybe Clappy and Funk damaged these kids beyond repair. Still waiting for Kalis to block somebody. If we could start all true freshmen, except maybe, maybe Braden, I'd do it next year. We may see Onwenu and the WI, milk and cheese eating OL start as it is.
We are agreed, I'm talking about the #4-7 receivers on the team. Grant Perry shot up the depth chart as a true freshman w an obviously excellent work ethic but not a ton of outstanding talent. He passed a lot of cannon fodder on the way.I am not talking about entitlement. I'm no insider but imo, I can see Green leaving, if not both of them. You saw one play from Isaac this past season. I really hoped that both guys would pan out...5 star, couple of "high" 4 stars and yet it might be our biggest position of need. Pretty disappointing...Green and Ty are not leaving - they are both going to stay another year and then go as grad transfers where they can play right away and at least have a degree.
Green would have three more years to play two with a lot more maturity to go along with a new environment. Kind of a no-brainer. I don't think Isaac will transfer again, he only has two years to play two, unless it's as a grad transfer.I'm no insider but imo, I can see Green leaving, if not both of them. Green hasn't shown much other than the "turf-monster" bringing him down...pulling for the kid but where's he been, injury? Isaac's mom has had to beg JH to give her boy another chance...have heard rumors that last summer, he'd go to Chitown to work on his DJ skills instead of staying in A2 and working on his football skills. He's got speed, size but not the heart for the game. I wanted him in the worst way back when he signed w/ SC...both backs are totally puzzling with what they could bring to the table. The running back situation is wide open but no takers. Green averaged 3.3 ypc in limited action, Smith 670 rushing yards...be interesting what they are in just the B1G. I truly hope I'm wrong but there's not much to go on here...Green would have three more years to play two with a lot more maturity to go along with a new environment. Kind of a no-brainer.
