This season is in the toilet anyway now and that is clear. It also seems pretty clear (despite what the board wants) that JH isn't going anywhere. Personally in a season where things are just upside down anyways, I would start to consider the following if I were JH:
- Start playing a lot of your younger players and playing them more - including your true freshmen on all sides of the field. At this point in time the difference between going 1-7 versus 2-6 is not that different. Let's let some of these kids get TONS of experience in their free year so they come back with in-game experience next year.
- Players that are planning to leave anyway - like Jalen, Hawkins, etc - I would maybe play them a little less unless they are banking on these games to up their draft positions. As of right now Hawkins is not doing himself any favor by playing quite frankly.
- Let Milton go crazy - who cares if he throws 15/16 INTs - just let him play free and start to experiment more and more with your playbook. Let these kids go out and have fun and swing for the fences. It's a free year, let's see if we can get the fun back. Stop being overly curated on the offense and let's let our athletes have the ball and do amazing things we it (and it's clear we do have athletes).
