Picked up a copy of Steele's College Football Preview, which I hadn't done before. LOTS of information, very complete (trust me, my eyes are not good enough any more to read all the mice-type). This season I wanted to know more about our opponents than, well, the past seven or so years.
The stat that stood out and depressed me -- for a moment -- was this:
"UM has not started a season with a win away from home since '95."
I think that changes this year. Don't care if it's by 1 or by 42. THIS YEAR things change.
Regardless, I found that stat eye-opening. How many "Top Teams" haven't won their season opener, even if on the road (just a rhetorical question, guys 'n gals)?
Are you as surprised as I was or have I been asleep at the stats-switch?
