Non-Fiction: "The Power Broker" by Robert Caro. In part, because of the story of how it was written and published. A minor miracle that started the improbable career of my favorite author.
Fiction: "Huck Finn." I ended up re-reading (ok, let's face it -- most of my original "reading" of the book was from Cliff Notes) much of the book to my daughter this year. I love Twain and, of course, this is (IMO) his best book. And its historical significance is undeniable and something really special to share with my daughter.
