Alabama DB Transfer Caleb Downs has been reported to be attending Running Back meetings at Ohio State. Granted, he played RB and DB in HS where in his senior year amassed the following stats: 57 carries for 389 rushing yards (6.8 ypc) and 20 TD, 36 catches for 422 yards (11.7 avg) and 3 TD, and completed 2 of 4 pass attempts for 39 yards and one TD
Day says that "it’s something (Downs) wanted to do. We’ve been having him in some of the meetings and some of the individual drills as a possibility there if needed down the road as we continue to build depth at that position.”
Downs returned kicks last season (only four times) at Bama, and had on TD return. But do you think this is Day out-thinking himself or do you think this is a weapon that OSU can properly utilize on both sides of the ball? Just seems out of the blue and kind of desperate.
But fire away with your thoughts.
