Currently looking at traveling to Rome, Florence, and Cinque Terre in April during kids' spring break for 7-8 days. Most of my European travel has been for bidness so this will be new for me. I am a control freak and usually handle all domestic travel researching every little detail but this would seem to be way out of my swim lane. I have retained a travel agent here in the area and I have not spoken to one of those in probably 20+ years. Is that the right way to go? Any suggestions on questions to ask the agent? Seems like the first itinerary is fairly thorough (although a bit more expensive than anticipated) but wanted to gather Fort input from those more seasoned than me.

Thanks in advance for your enlightenment.
