I watched a movie over the week end - "The Company You Keep". If had a historical fiction plot that was centered around former U of M students who were in the SDS and The Weathermen. And of course the FBI was after some of the cast in the movie and most of the cast had been underground for 30 years.
I was in high school when most of this was occurring and the draft was over in 1972 and Vietnam in 1975.. So, it was a forgotten part of U of M history to me. The only relevance I have is that the SDS did come to Rockford High School in 1969 as ask to speak to the students. I do not remember what happened with the request or how the high school admin handled the request.
I know we are not suppose to discuss politics on this site. However, I was just wondering if anyone who frequents this site has some valid back ground information as a U of M student in the mid to late 60's.
