First, and in advance, thanks for all your insight. We have planned, and have enjoyed wonderful vacations based on some of the feedback we have received from folks on the Board, much to my wife's amazement.

We are thinking of heading to SW Colorado in August to visit the following NP:

  • Mesa Verde
  • Great Sand Dunes
  • Black Canyon
We also thought we would spend some time in Durango and Telluride.

A few questions.

  1. Can this be done in 10 days or is that too much driving?
  2. How would you rank these places, what would you cut out or add? We are moderate hikers (kids are 16 and 20)
  3. Where would you fly into? I thought about extending it a day and fly into Santa Fe
Again, I appreciate your comments, things to consider, etc.
