At 5:00 this morning I went to awaken my faithful friend Kirby for his morning bowl of kibble. I found him dead. I've been crying my eyes out since. I'm on my way to his vet now to see what my wife and I are to do with him.
With what we have been through as a family the last 10 years this is just another major blow. With what I've personally been through the last 9 months this is just another shot to the junk. "The little guy and I were so close that, as odd as it may sound, when one of us was very down or was in some particularly intense discomfort the other seemed to feel it as well. I just loved the little guy almost as if he were my child.
For 17 years, he and I had many great adventures. He was a marvelous companion and a great servant as well as a great teacher as to what are really the most important things in life; love fellowship, living each moment as if it would be our last, but most importantly chasing cats with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind!
Thanks in advance for any kind thoughts...I don't know if or when I'll be able to respond. I just had to express my feelings to this brotherhood, thank you for your understanding and indulgence...
