He was the answer to yesterday's Final Jeopardy question under the category "WWII Heroes". I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know who he was, but I certainly do now. I spent about 30 minutes reading his Wikipedia page. Wow. He certainly saved a ton of lives during the war. (I was pleasantly surprised to see that he got his degree from the University of Michigan.) So many questions surrounding how and when he died. Strange times.
