New Rule: The new extra Innings rule is to begin the extra inning with a runner on 2nd base.
The runner will be the player to make the last out in the previous inning.
In the Bottom-half (home-half) of that extra inning the runner on second is the winning run.
When he crosses home plate the game is over
Scenario: I watched the Cubs this week and noticed that in the bottom-half of the 10th inning
there was a good hitter at the plate and they did NOT automatically walk him, putting runners on 1st and 2nd,
creating the force play at third and putting the double play in order.
I thought someone said that this was the right decision.
Why?
