Madonna's eclectic wardrobe now includes a custom-made satin maize and blue cape to help disguise her when she comes to Ann Arbor to visit her daughter, Lourdes, a freshman at Michigan.

During Madonna's appearance Tuesday on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the show's host, known for giving her guests a number of clever gifts, presented the cape with the words "Definitely NOT Madonna" on the back.

"I want you to go to Michigan, to the university, and be able to hang out with Lourdes, but I know that you're you, so that's going to be difficult," DeGeneres said. "So I got something so you can go."

Madonna laughed at the irony, since she recently had a cape malfunction during a recent concert and fell off the stage when it wouldn't release from her neck. Madonna donned her new cape and clutched a Block M cup.

"When I go to visit her, I have to stay in her dorm," Madonna, a metro Detroit native who briefly attended Michigan, said of Lourdes. "I can't even go out on the streets with her. It's so embarrassing."

DeGeneres also presented her with a large Block M-embellished cooler.

"So you can go to the game," DeGeneres told her, to which Madonna responded, "It's so low-key."

Madonna did reveal that her daughter is dating a sophomore at Michigan and admitted how tough it was when Lourdes left for Ann Arbor.

"After she left for school, I fell into the deepest depression," Madonna said, adding she's thrilled when her daughter calls and says, 'Mommy, I miss you.' "
