OT: Lunch in Carmel by the Sea

I'm planning a drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco and wanted to stop in Carmel and do some sightseeing and maybe grab a bite to eat. Any suggestions?

Also, if I have time I'd like to check out Big Sur. Any advice on what I could see there in an hour or two?
