I imagine they get rid of Flaherty regardless, but a sweep may just change their minds IF the offers aren’t too good. Like if they get offered a mid-level prospect, do you just see how this season goes and take the risk of losing Flaherty for nothing if it means making a playoff run? Obviously if you get a good offer you almost have to take it regardless.
I don’t think Skubal should even be a consideration, but a godfather deal might just make them stop and think for a minute. I would hate to see it tho. Build around your young stars. Extend the guy and use him as a centerpiece.
