Just received a Victors for Michigan newsletter/magazine and it has an article on Charles receiving an honorary degree last spring from M. I didn't realize (or else I had forgotten lol) that Charles was born with clubfeet and had to wear corrective braces to keep his legs in place and prevented him from playing, activity etc when very young. The early intervention allowed him to make a full recovery. That experience led him to be very involved with Mott as a student and presumably caused him to agree immediately when asked to help with fundraising. I just thought it was a neat story. It probably was an ESPN feature when he was in school lol but if so I didn't remember and I apologize!
