First, Bill O'Brien has really disappointed with the Texans. I think he is a really decent head coach. Like a number of coaches that have autonomous decision making with the roster, he has failed. The Texans roster is bad, very bad. The offense, for sure, is garbage (DeAndre Hopkins is severely missed). That's a shame because they are wasting Deshaun Watson. Time for Bill to go.
Then there's Matt Patricia, along with Wonder Friend Bob Quinn, pure disaster right outta the wrapper. Woefully, ill equipped as a leader and just not good. Time to admit this was a bad coaching hire. Anyone saying in hindsight it was a good idea to replace Jim Caldwell with Patricia, well... nope. At least Caldwell had the Lions hovering above .500 and on the cusp of the playoffs. Quinn cannot escape deep scrutiny here. Package deal, I'm afraid.
And fergodsakes, do not go near the Belichick coaching tree, dear NFL. He produces fine coordinators. Let's leave it at that.
