So I had a room reservation for tonight at Bell Tower Hotel. Last night I tested positive for Covid so cancelled my reservation , my flights last night as soon as I learned I had it and rented a car to drive home to Boston today. I asked the front office person if they would give consideration and not charge me the full nights stay ($629). He said to call the reservation manager today which I did. In essence she told me too bad. When I explained I wasn't looking for a full refund, just perhaps split the difference. She flatly refused.
I get tying up a room but who is being unreasonable here?
Update: So I spoke with the GM this morning and re-explained the whole situation. I told him I wasn't looking for a total freebie, just perhaps split the cost. He agreed to that so they are off my sheet list and I look forward to staying there my next trip to Ann Arbor.
