As I was reading the other thread about someone moving back to Michigan, I was curious what the actual city limits of A2 are. I searched for Ann Arbor, MI in Google Maps, and when it shows the map of Ann Arbor with the actual city a bit shaded in red, there are a lot of small cut outs in many parts of the city. So I started searching on Google more and discovered that these are called "township islands" that hadn't yet been annexed to Ann Arbor. There was a plan to annex all of these in 2008, but I couldn't find anywhere that they'd actually been annexed yet. Maybe they were given the choice of either being annexed, or paying for city services to be allowed to remain a township?

Anyone know? Anyone live in any of these townships?
