Lost my dog while on vacation. This was not completely unexpected but when we left she was happy, and by outward appearance, healthy. She had a few serious things going on, but we expected to have her a few more months at least.

While it is possible to go in to work, I changed jobs a few months ago, and thus: I don't have an assigned desk, don't know many co-workers and the place is mostly empty since most everyone can work remotely. There are also still mask restrictions in the county (and a general suggestion from the company to stay home), although I have been vaccinated.

Looking for suggestions, especially if you've been through this. Never realized how different things would be without a companion here who, if nothing else, would require me to be out of my chair and up and about many times a day.
